About Me
Redefining high performance for healthcare professionals - one rested, resilient human at a time.
I’ve spent my entire career in medicine going against the grain, following the things I’m interested in and curious about rather than trying to be the kind of doctor I thought I “should” be. I have watched friends and colleagues focus on academia, composure, endless giving, and self sacrifice and I have been there to pick up the pieces when they have burnt out.
At times people have questioned my dedication and even my morals because I have refused to follow the crowd into self neglect, but it is this intentional strategy of deep self care that has got me where I am today.
Dual trained in palliative medicine and general practice, I’ve travelled through emergency medicine, obstetrics, general practice, and eventually palliative care searching for a place in healthcare that felt both meaningful and sustainable. Along the way, I wrestled with self-doubt and the unspoken belief that being a “good doctor” meant sacrificing myself in service of others.
What I have discovered along this journey is something I now consider my life’s work:
Healthcare can only be truly human and sustainable when we value ourselves first.
When doctors are cared for, everything improves – culture, connection, compassion, and ultimately patient care.
Today, I help healthcare professionals reclaim their wellbeing, reconnect with their purpose, and build careers they can actually sustain. I work with clinicians and healthcare teams who are tired of merely surviving and are ready to work, lead, and live from a place of humanity instead of exhaustion.
What I Believe
I believe medicine doesn’t need more endurance.
It needs more humanity.
High performance isn’t about pushing through; it’s about staying grounded, connected, compassionate, and well.
We can’t pour from empty cups.
We can’t deliver compassionate care when we’re running on fumes.
And we absolutely can’t keep building systems that expect clinicians to break themselves in the process.
Cared-for doctors create cared-for patients.
It’s as simple and as transformative as that.
How I Work
I support doctors, clinicians, and healthcare leaders to:
- Strengthen their wellbeing and prevent burnout
- Communicate and collaborate with more clarity and compassion
- Build healthier team culture
- Create careers that feel aligned, meaningful, and sustainable
- Reconnect with why they entered medicine in the first place
My approach blends clinical experience, lived humanity, strategic thinking, and a deep respect for the people behind the stethoscopes.
The Outdated Belief I’m Challenging
For decades, medicine has held onto the idea that…
“the patient comes first.”
…even if it means doctors come last. We still reward self-sacrifice, endurance, ego, and academic output over compassion, connection, and collaboration.
I challenge that every day.
Because when doctors deny their own humanity, the entire system suffers.
Medicine doesn’t need more martyrs.
It needs more humans.
What Guides Me
The question that drives my work is simple:
“How do we help doctors truly live the life they want, so they can bring humanity back to healthcare?”
Who I Am Outside of Medicine
When I’m not supporting clinicians or advocating for wellbeing in healthcare, you’ll find me with my family, walking by the ocean, or gently reminding colleagues (and myself!) that rest isn’t a luxury, it’s leadership.
